For the last two decades, there has been an increasing interest in victims of crime and how the Canadian criminal justice system should respond to victims of crime. This course will provide students with a general introduction to the specialized field of victimology withing the discipline of Criminology.  This course will provide a historical perspective on the evolution of victimology,  the law in Canada related to victims of crime, theoretical approaches in victimoology used to explain victimization ; specific types of victims of crime; and how the criminal justice system in Canada responds to victims of crime.
