The course objective is to provide a working knowledge of the main topics encountered when managing personal finances. Upon completion students will be better prepared to make informed and educated decisions in the future. The course will follow the broad life cycle of financial planning beginning with budgeting, debt reduction and saving strategies, then moving to money management and estate preservation. The course will be relevant to those starting to manage their own financial affairs and to those involved in helping family and parents with their affairs now or in the future.

This course introduces a range of business topics with an emphasis on business practices in the Canadian context. Topics include entrepreneurship, financial process, marketing, socially responsible business, management, human resources, strategy, and the role of business in the Canadian economy.
