This course trains students in the basics of acting for film and TV. Students learn the core concepts of scene study, including breaking a scene into beats, pursuing objectives, playing actions, and working to overcome obstacles. Topics also included adjusting acting for shot size, hitting marks, matching eyelines, and maintaining continuity. The course typically culminates in a screening of scenes for an audience. This year we will explore the possibility of hosting an online screening.
