"This course is an introduction to the sociological study of environmental problems and the issues they raise, using C. Wright Mills' notion of the 'sociological imagination'."
In other words, we want to explore the relationship between our social world and our environmental world. To extend that, we want to actively work to make our world better. To do that, we must be aware of the problems, some understanding of causes, and be able to consider possible solutions.
