This course is a general introduction to motivation and emotion in the field of psychology. Topics include the basics of psychology and science; history and theories of motivation and emotion in psychology; fundamentals of biological regulation of motivational systems; the role of cognition in emotion; the structure and mechanisms of emotion. Class attendance is required. Prerequisite: PSYC 2023.
