    • Welcome to the SCC Moodle page. Here you will find the terms of reference of the Committee, Guidelines for the Creation of New Courses, and Reports to Senate.

      Members of the SCC for 2016-17 are *** (Faculty), Michael Boudreau (ex officio), *** (Library),  ***  (Faculty), *** (Student Representative), Karen Preston and/or Shauna Foote (Registrar), *** (Chair, Faculty) .

      Please note that Department/Programme approval must be gained before any submission is made to the Senate Curriculum Committee. Only Chairs,  Programme Directors, and the Vice-President (Academic & Research) or designate may make submissions to the Committee.

  • SCC Deadlines

    • The next meeting of the SCC: Fall 2016.

      The SCC usually meets once per month. Submissions to the Committee should arrive no later than the last day of the preceding month (though please send materials as early as possible to ensure that the committee has time to vet them).

      Please submit all materials to scc@stu.ca as Word documents (with standard 1-inch margins & a standard font like Times New Roman 12-pt), not in pdf or in hardcopy.

      Submissions to SCC that require a change to the official version of the St. Thomas University Calendar (now PDF) should be received by November 1 (though, again, please send materials as early as possible so that the committee has ample time to vet them).

       

  • SCC Terms of Reference

     

    The Curriculum Committee advises the Senate on new courses, on proposed changes to existing courses and programmes, and on descriptions of the curriculum proposed for publication. 

    The Committee approves proposals for Special Topics courses; changes to course numbers; changes to course names; changes to pre-requisites or co-requisites; cross-listing of courses; removal, retirement, or revival of courses; and minor changes to Calendar descriptions. All such items shall be reported by the Committee to Senate. Proposals for new courses, revision of existing courses, and revision of existing programmes shall require both Curriculum Committee and Senate approval.

    Membership: The committee consists of three (3) members of the academic staff, one (1) student, one (1) representative from the Harriet Irving Library, and one (1) representative from the Registrar's Office. 

    Report: When necessary and twice annually, in December and March.
