Introduction to Theatre, aims to provide students with a foundation from which to DO theatre, MAKE theatre, SEE theatre and KNOW theatre. Through both academic and practical exercises, students will (DO) learn some basic performance techniques and engage in a basic scene study, (MAKE) gain practical knowledge about various stage elements and learn some basic tenants of stage-management, (SEE) have the opportunity to see theatre and learn to be a critically engaged audience member and (KNOW) be introduced to some key practices and theories pertaining to the past, present and future of theatre.
