Enrolment options

This course will study the history of literature written for children, looking at thematic trends and the ideas governing the social and moral education of children over time. The course will cover material from the early modern period up to the early twentieth century. We will pay special attention to issues of gender, moral philosophy, religion, politics, social constructs, and the purposes behind the creation of the various texts.
