Journalism is the art of telling stories that are true. This course will explore a wide range of journalistic work and how the best of these stories help us understand our lives and our world. The course content will include important and memorable acts of journalism from the past, stories from underrepresented groups in mainstream media, and stories related to events unfolding during the semester. The course will explore how the practise of journalism is changing in the age of social media and artificial intelligence. How can journalism’s storytelling tradition continue in the digital age?
