Hi, one of the discussion options in the Hate U Give discussions is about the cop talk that Starr needed to get when she was young, and we see her younger brother Sekani getting at only 8 in the novel, on how they have to act around cops to stay safe as Black individuals. It reminded me of this video that many have probably seen, but it is eye opening to say the least. It shows Black parents having this talk with their children, and it is heartbreaking. Thought I would share. .
